Introduction
This page is a collection of intriguing, mysterious and downright goofy infromation about the (official) Sonic the Hedgehog line of games. It deals with everything from Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System to Sonic Adventure on SEGA Dreamcast.
It's basically an archive of weird STH data the author has collected since 1998, when Andre Alex Dirk had shown the world his interesting Sonic 2 cartridge. Most of the info here is exclusive unless it was "borrowed" by others. Meaning there is stuff here you won't find anywhere else!
The original authors of the finding have been listed where I myself am not the author.

Sonic 3D Blast/Flickies' Island (Page 1)

First, some early screenshots.

Shellcracker

This image was found by Rlan. It shows Sonic in what appears to be an early Green Grove Zone.
Now, for the list of shocking differences:
- Sonic's shadow is round. It's perfectly rendered in the final version.
- No player information. (Rings, lives.) - Sonic has 5 (all) Flickies following him. What exactly is inside that badnik then?
- The badnik is Sonic 2's shellcracker. Never used in the final version of Sonic 3D. Notice his shadow.
- The bridge. Seems like you can also walk underneath it - something which is impossible to perform in the final version.
- Let's look at the bridge one more time. The texture it uses is different in the final Mega Drive/Genesis version, but the PC and Saturn version use the SAME model for some of the bridges in the zone! O_o This is odd, and can be explained with some werid re-usement technique...but then again, why not bring back Shellcracker instead of some dumb bridge fake polygon models?

Not as interesting, but still...

This one is mine. ALL MINE! MUAHAHAHA! It's not as interesting as the one above, but hey, it's bigger...
- I've seen this image reversed somewhere, I dunno if this is facing the correct way (turn it around and you'll get an exact location in the final version of Green Grove Zone...I think...), but the GF logo suggests it.
- As before, no rings, no lives, no nothing.
- Sonic's shadow is still round and sluggish.
- I was never able to count the Flickies circling around the blue hero, but what exactly caused Sonic to lose rings? A badnik he had just killed?
- The background elements are somewhat dark; this could be argued with a scanner bugginess, but then again, the floor tiles are colored quite correctly...
- Sonic's offcentered. *waits for some people to start screaming "FAKE"*
