Introduction
This page is a collection of intriguing, mysterious and downright goofy infromation about the (official) Sonic the Hedgehog line of games. It deals with everything from Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System to Sonic Adventure on SEGA Dreamcast.
It's basically an archive of weird STH data the author has collected since 1998, when Andre Alex Dirk had shown the world his interesting Sonic 2 cartridge. Most of the info here is exclusive unless it was "borrowed" by others. Meaning there is stuff here you won't find anywhere else!
The original authors of the finding have been listed where I myself am not the author.

The Round 2 info can be found on a separate page.

Weird Time Attack pics

...starting with Tidal Tempest one.

Tidal Tempest

As you can see, the background in Tidal Tempest is rippled, but the foreground ISN'T. Why is that so strange? Take a look at this:

Time Attack pic nr. 1

Here, the foreground objects ARE rippled, just like in Labyrinth Zone from Japanese version of Sonic 1. But that's not all.

Time Attack pic nr. 2

How come Quartz Quadrant always sneaks up in these weird things? Ahem. OK. Do you see those crystals IN FRONT of the play area? They don't appear in the actual zone! (OK, they do, but they are not located IN FRONT of the play area. Good?) Also, if they would, they'd be differently colored...they would be white-gray, just like every other crystal around.

Now for the explanation. I think that the Time Attack pics show what levels were like in an earlier version of the game (possibly a late beta)

UPDATE:Aaaand here we are; Sonic CD Beta pics in their full glory:

There are other differences as well, like the Robotnik statue in Stardust Speedway act one that is shown in Time Attack as well but isn't in the final version.
