Mighty Crack

I own a 32X (what shame...) and Knuckles' Chaotix.  I also downloaded Sonic 
Crackers and let Sonic sit for a bit.  When Sonic is waiting around in 
Crackers, he starts spinning the Combi-Ring on the tip of his finger.  This 
is where my theory comes in.  In the Chaotix, another character also does 
this.  Mighty the Armadillo, who, I might add has sneakers and a face very 
similar to Sonic's, also twirls the Combi-Ring.  This leads me to believe 
that either Sonic Crackers was fan-made, using Mighty as the starting point 
for Sonic's graphics and actions, or it's the other way around, where Sonic 
was actually tweaked into Mighty.  Something to support that second half is 
that all Chaotix characters had a special ability like Knuckles' 
wall-climbing, Mighty's wall-bouncing, or Espio's ceiling cling.  Sonic has 
no sort of special ability implemented.

One last thing...  Mighty was also the fastest character in Chaotix (Sound
like Sonic yet?).
