--- By Jarred Man --- Tiberious Trouble --- I have a responce to what Tiberious posted about Sonic one and Knuckles: No, I don't believe it is possible. As far as I know, Sonic and Knuckles disables all Sonic sprites in Sonic 2 and Knuckles. It also adds its own. I also do not think that the current version of Sonic and Knuckles (The released one) has any Sonic one level data in it. This is easy to explain based on the fact there specifically Knuckles's routes.) and very little data about Sonic two (Replacements). If Sonic and Knuckles really was compatible, there would have to be more replacements (title screen change, and who knows what else) to compensate, which could be easily avoided by adding the 395 kb to Sonic and Knuckles easily and only running it if the game was detected. Sonic one was incredibly small, and as far as I am concerned, would have been simply...Placed on the same game. Aside from that, Sonic one would have to be programmed for the spin-dash that was used in later games, and the fact that Knuckles can break walls easily. I'm willing to wager the only reason Sonic two has Knuckles break walls easily is because a Copy of Sonic three and Knuckles sat on the CEO's desktop when the game was finished. There were a number of odd last minute changes, after all. Perhaps the ability was..only the second statement, while perparing for ideas, Sonic two was completed late enough for this statement, for future possibilities. If this is true, then it would definately explain why Knuckles was yanked from Sonic one. He just couldn't break walls. I hardly doubt that the conveyor belts would cause a change. If it crashed, they could replace the data with Death egg Zone type data, which, coincidentaly, has Conveyor builts. That is...to have a character sit around and fly across the board easily. The theory by Tiberious is unlikely. --- Taken from 'Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog - The Original' http://secretsonic.cjb.net ---
