  • Hi everyone, Andy here. Due to lack of time this semester, I will not be able to work on the WEMU station of the 'Zone Radio Network ('ZRN) as I would like. However, Sonic Blur will be taken over the station I have setup on the server this summer and will be renaming it to something else. The station will mostlikely feature music only from the "Sonic Universe." We will keep you informed. You can listen in by pointing Winamp to "http://ftp.emulationzone.org:26008" (And yes, it's up.)

We might be doing away with ShoutCast Server for something else (IceCast?) because it's giving me nothing but problems with our streamer. :-(

  • I'm having trouble getting A.J.'s Sonic CD beta to run on my Sega CDX. The unit just reads and reads and reads ands reads.... and nothing happens. I tried reburning the CD he shipped to me and the SegaCD only recognizes the new one as an audio CD. I know the CDX can read a CDR disk just fine because the copy of the SonicCD beta that Stealth made for me works fine on it. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be excellent. I just wonder if the JVC SegaCD "clone" that A.J. used lacked some kind of copy protection that might be present in the SegaCD, yielding problems. Again, any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

  • Woo-hah! Ryoga Masaki here. I have some interesting news! Dr. Ivo managed to locate one of the original programmers for the Sonic CD port to PC! I've emailed him with a few questions, and here's his reply! Loads of yummy info with a nice nugat center! ^_~

If you have any questions for him, please email me, and I will direct them to him. I've also withheld his email address to prevent a mass of mail coming to him. That just wouldn't make a very good impression of the SSRG if he suddenly got 250 emails asking about the R2 level, would it? =P

  • Hi everyone, Andy here. I just received a copy of the Sonic CD Beta A.J. has posted on the web. I am now comparing it with the Sonic CD Beta Stealth purchased several months ago.

I have done only preliminary work tonight. So far, I have discovered that discovered that on A.J.'s beta, track 28 is a different variation of the "speed-up" tune then found on the final Japanese version of the game.

Also, for those that are curious, the files on Stealth's beta are time stamped 7/12/93. The one on A.J.'s are time stamped 5/10/93, thus designating A.J.'s copy an early or truer beta.

I will try to get my AV equipment setup tomorrow so I record some video photage for you guys. I will house all my info in a separite section as well when I get around to it.

  • The wonderful CLA now has it's own message board! Don't be shy, now, dive on in!

  • Hi, I'm Wiseman. I've updated the under-construction version of Cheats Archive, fixing a small error (thanks to Thomas!) and adding cheats for Game Gear Sonic games.

  • Today is a very special day for the Sonic community as well as the person who started it all. Today is Yuji Naka's birthday (19 65 09 17 -- hint hint). Today he has turned 35. Without Yuji Naka, there would be no Sonic community nor would there be Sonic at all, so let us take pride in this day.

  • The Custom Level Archive has now been updated with a quick-loading FTP-styley-kind-of interface. Check it out!

  • Err, wait. I forgot to say my name last post. ^^; It's me, Ryoga Masaki. Jeez, how stupid can I be? =P

  • Hey everyone! Wow, I never thought I'd see the day I'd actually be posting to *THE* SSRG. You like me! You really like me! I'd like to thank all the little people...

Err, sorry. ^^; Anyway, for those who don't know, I'm going to be running the Sonic CD Hacking Guide. As of yet, there's not much to the page. However, I have TONS of info I'm compiling into usable format now. For now you can just go to the page and drool over my awesome webpage skillz. MWA-HAHA! ^_~

  • Goon/Johnny here! Nayr T'Nargh has made and is working on a hoax savestate of his 'artist's impression' of Genocide City, and has kindly contributed it to the Custom Level Achive. Although it's in it's early stages, you can see that it's going to be an impressive piece of work.

  • The Sonic CD beta (05/10/93) has been uploaded to SegaSonic.Net! AJ Freda has taken his time to make a version for the average consumer so it can easily be burned to CD instead of having to work with that nasty binary file that was in the original. You can get it here.

  • Hi, Cyan here... are you playing Sonic Spinball under emulation? If so, then unless you haven't played the game before, you probably would have noticed the jerky scrolling and overall slow response of the game. However, this can be corrected quite easily...see HERE for details.

  • As you might have heard, there is indeed a rumor going around that a Sega CD emulator is in the works and getting near public release. Now of course, since it is still only a rumor so far, we can't be sure that it is actually going to happen, but you can read all about it at EmuViews.
