May 2001 News

(5-29-2001)
  • I would like to announce the grand opening of Tails Prower's Sonic Save State Archive. The site is still in development stages but the home page and sonic 2 sections are fully operational. Some of you may know me as the owner of Sonic Secrtes Group, well this is my new home. So enjoy.

  • Hey people, Lexef here, just wanted to let you know the hoaxes section is open. This is a place you can post all your hoaxed Sonic screenshots. It's a bit of a mess at the moment, with a far from good page design, but I'm working on it. GCSEs comming up soon so that's why progress is slow. Check it out anyway and feel free to send hoaxes in! (email on the page)

  • News seems to have slowed a bit, hasn't it? Anyway, I figured I'd make it known here that I've set up a section on Organized Chaos for that Comic I mentioned in the last update, which has some material that should give you an idea of what to expect (with the exception of the work by our missing artists..). If you're interested, take a look, and let us know!

Also, I've finally set up an Organized Chaos-exclusive MessageBoard. It includes a Project Mettrix section, a SonED section, a Chaos Adventures section, and a General Chat section. (A note to those who have tried to post with global accounts but failed, I have solved the password problem, it shouldn't bother you anymore.) Be sure to check that out too!

  • I'd like to take the time to let you guys know about a couple of things. Firstly, I know that you've been waiting for those maps, and I have word from Andy that he may get around to setting them up on the archive in about 1-2 weeks. Sorry for the delay over that, but these files're troublesome.

Secondly, Gen (fellow OC member) and I are making plans to create a Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM-based) web-comic, and we want to know how much interest there is in this. For a little more info and the E-mail addresses to which you can express your support, please visit the Organized Chaos main page.

Also, while I have your attention, I've updated the info pages for Sonic: Project mettrix with new art and music, and also a new section that's just waiting to house your user-created levels. If you've been interested in this game, be sure to check it out!

  • I'll be gone and won't be back until late Monday or Tuesday. I will be gone to Virginia Beach to stay and play music up there. However, when I get back, I will do my best to reply to all e-mails and fix the news on Sonic Hacking Community, which by the way I'd like to thank Andy Wolan for adding the news script.

  • Some users of the Sonic 2 level select text editor released only today have been concerned about the little sequence at the end of the program. Please be aware that this is a hoax -- nothing more, nothing less, and no data is harmed in the process, whatsoever. Although hard disk activity takes place, this is a hoax too, done by reading files over and over rapidly.
    Thank you for your time!

  • Here's the world's first Sonic 2 level select text editor -- Get it here! (in the "My Hacking Tools" section -- my site has been updated recently twice, believe it or not!). Apologies to Gerbil about this -- although he recently started work on a similar project and went public with the news only yesterday, unbeknownst to him, I had developed a similar application 2 years ago which was only privately released, and was intended for public release some time in the future.

  • Now to do something never accomplished before (at least by hand)...

Yes, it's a Sonic 2 level select editor! The Sonic 2 level select text is IMPOSSIBLE to edit by hand (unless you use a binary editor instead of a hexadecimal one) due to the weird 10-bit format used in Sonic 2, but now this program will be able to do it for you! Check back for updates.
