September 2002 News

  • Let me correct what Tom said. Yes, SSRG no longer has a moderator or an admin. Yes, do not email him regarding hosting, getting an account created, or asking to “revive” SSRG. No, SSRG will not be closed down and deleted, so there is no need for people to fear that will happen.

The site itself is not dead because of those that still have an account and a site/project. Expect them to continue to make updates to their projects for as long as they feel like it. SSRG is dead in the sense that it will no longer be of service to the community by offering free hosting or be there to help resolve disputes or just help out in the betterment of the community. SSRG is just a shell of its former existence, which just hosts sites it once hosted in the past and nothing more.

For the record, Tom’s account was pulled by the ZTNET admin because of what Tom did a few years ago, not by me.

    - Andy (Do not email me)

  • I want to make it clear that SSRG will probably never be updated again. There are no moderators or admins any more. Please don't e-mail me about hosting, creating accounts or becoming co-mod of SSRG. Besides, I have lost my FTP access.
Hopefully all hosted sites will stay as they are, at least for the time being. Although ultimately the entire SSRG site may have to close down.
Those of you with FTP access to your sites, back them up as soon as possible!

  • Hi, Tom here. Just to let you know Andy has decided to make me sole moderator of the SSRG.
Andy and Stealth have decided that SSRG will remain as it is, but will be just a 'shell'. That is, there will be no maintainer. I still have access to make minor updates/fixes as necessary, and you may still update your sites (I think) with regular FTP accounts.

  • Hi all, Freakasonic here. I just announce that I retire from SSRG. This has been such a nice time we shared, but I no longer have time enough for the translations, so I just want to finish quoting Megadeth: "A tout le monde, à tous mes amis, je vous aime, je dois partir". :)

  • I want to annouce that I am leaving the Sonic Community, effective immediately. Dealing with jerks and retards for the past few years has put so much stress on me that it has affecting my health. (I hope you jerks are happy.)

I ask people to not AIM, ICQ, PM or email me in regards to the board, SSRG, hosting requests or Sonic ROM hacking, period. I'm through. The same holds for Stealth as well. Good bye.

    - Andy (BYE!)
